Want to be happier? Try surrounding yourself with more people who are… happy!

Here’s why:

Business Insider suggest that you are the average of the five people you spend the most of your time with. So you want to make these people ones that are happy, positive, trustworthy, and who make you an even better version of yourself so that you can all grow together.

It can be extremely difficult to find like-minded people, especially if you live in a small town and you are not experiencing any big changes in your life. It was easy when growing up to make friends in school, when you went to college, and even moving to a brand new city and starting a new job.

But most of us are out of college now and it is just plain hard to meet people! Especially the people that you want to surround yourself with to foster personal growth. I too, was struggling to find a community of like-minded women who have the same zest for positivity and happiness as me… so I created one!

If you love what I blog about and want to find others who share the same values, I encourage you to join Women Living a Happy Life | The Happy Life Formula Community.

I am SO excited to see what this group becomes, what relationships it creates, and how much happiness it brings into our lives! I am super into positive affirmations and the Law of Attraction, so I know how important it is to surround myself with happy people.

  1. So true! It’s definitely harder to meet people when you’re out of school! Awesome for you taking your happiness into your own hands. ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow. I never thought about being like 5 people I’m around the most. That actually makes sense- and makes me realize what kind of people I want to be around. So thank you!

  3. This is definitely so true. Who I spend my time with drastically affects my mood, so I am very choosy about who I have in my life, but I think that’s completely fair – I deserve to be happy too! I love reading about how to incorporate more happiness into your life, I am so glad I found your blog ๐Ÿ’ž

  4. I’ve heard of the 5 people average before and as I think about it more you are totally right! Have you ever read the book The Secret? Similar idea of positive attracts positive, one of my favorite books.

  5. Totally agree! I’m at home with my babes most of the time and I do struggle with surrounding myself (in real life) with adults – which can sometimes leave me more negative than I naturally care to be. It’s on my radar tho so I feel like that’s a step in the right direction ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. I couldn’t agree more with the points you made!! Our circle influences us in more ways than we think. It is so important to spend time with like minded associates/friends.

  7. This is so awesome. I just listened to a podcast this morning about how we are a society that tries to eradicate weaknesses instead of using a strengths-based approach. Even our healthcare system is based on a foundation of what is WRONG and how to fix it. I love the idea of focusing on what is right, what is good, what is happy and I LOVE the idea of a happiness group!

  8. This is SO TRUE. I had a group of friends years ago that were always super negative and backbiting. One day, I got voted out of the group, and it was by far a blessing in disguise. Now I have positive, engaging, and motivated friends that encourage me to succeed and be a better person.

  9. I absolutely agree! Hanging around negativity causes it to feed into your life and into your thoughts. Iโ€™m a big believer in positivity and thatโ€™s what i want around me, it definitely makes you a happier person!
