Have you ever had one of those days where your alarm didn’t go off, you were late for work, you spilled coffee all over your brand new dress, your boss yelled at you, and so on and so forth for the entire day? What if I told you that you can reprogram your mind to stop those kind of days from spiraling out of control?

I guess I should say, I’m going to let you in on The Secret. The Law of Attraction! Have you heard of the Law of Attraction? It is the universal law that like attracts like and that we get more back of what we put out into the universe.
Let’s use our bad day as an example. When you alarm doesn’t go off, you end up waking late. This causes you to panic and think to yourself “I’m going to be late I’m going to be late” so, the universe provides it. You are late! This swirl of negative thinking just causes more and more bad things to keep happening, as you grumble and complain to anyone who will listen how BAD your day is and how bad things keep happening. And just like that, the Universe keeps those bad things coming!
But you can use this to your advantage!
Set a positive intention each and every day before your feet hit the floor
When you wake up, before your head starts flooding with your to-do list or all the places you need to be today, set a positive intention for today. What is a positive intention? It is a positive affirmation that you say to yourself to set the mood for the whole day as being positive! Still not sure what to say? Here are some examples to try:
- Today is going to be a great day!
- I am going to achieve all of my goals today
- Everything will go my way today
- I am going to be successful at the project I have to complete today
- My day will go according to plan
And so on and so forth- you get the idea! Starting your morning with this positive intention starts your subconscious on a positive note. It’s like fueling your body with a good breakfast, except you are fueling your subconscious thoughts with positive messages to keep replaying all day long.
Also, if you don’t have one already, be sure to grab yourself a daily desk calendar (I wrote about this in my post on positive affirmations). The image below was the daily calendar page the day after I wrote this post, talk about theLaw of Attraction in action! A daily desk calendar can be a good reminder of a positive intention if you forget to set one before you leave your warm cozy bed in the morning.
But what if something goes wrong?
You caught me there. Yes, some days bad things are going to happen and things are going to wrong. They key is how you react to those bad things. Have you ever noticed that when you make a mistake at work and then hastily try to cover it up you make more mistakes? Instead, take the time to acknowledge the bad thing that has happened, take a few deep breaths, formulate a plan of action and MOVE ON! If you need to try this one little trick…
Okay, maybe don’t actually YELL stop out loud if you are at work or in a public setting as you might frighten the people around you (or have them calling the police!) but you can tell your negative thoughts to STOP! I know this trick sounds absolutely ridiculous, but if you find yourself swirling with negative thoughts or emotions it really does help. I swear by this trick and use it myself multiple times a day.
So now you know!
I am totally obsessed with the Law of Attraction and the power of positive thinking. I have applied it in numerous areas of my life (more to come on that in future posts) and think that it is the key to living a happy life.
