There’s a few ways to make your money work for you, and one of them is saving and investing! Last year I saved a total of $1,500 by saving a little every few weeks. The amounts got larger as the year went on and by the end of the year, I was the proud owner of a savings account with $1,500 (plus the interest it earned!)

I embarked on a semi-monthly savings challenge in January of 2016. My company pays us twice a month, so a semi-monthly savings challenge seemed ideal for me. You can also take the challenge weekly or monthly if you prefer, or get paid on that type of schedule. All I had to do was deposit the scheduled amount in my savings account according to the schedule, not withdraw any funds, and watch the money grow!

So what will you do with your $1,500?!

  1. This is a good example of how pay yourself first can work. Congratulations and thank you for the reminder that I can save more too. Keeping getting the word out. People need to hear this stuff.

This is a great challenge. I have a semi-monthly savings program that I follow too. It’s amazing how quickly it adds up.
