by Alexandra Weisser in Blogging, Gratitude, Love / 8 Comments

A roundup of amazing mommy bloggers to inspire you to start your own blog or just to follow along! Starting a blog has given these moms a creative outlet and a way to make money for their families.

In honor of mother’s day, I thought it would be fun to gather up a round-up of some of the amazing mommy bloggers out there and see why they decided to start blogging as moms! Blogging allows some of these moms to earn a full-time income doing something they love while staying home with their kids.

Inspired to start a blog of your own? Check out my post on how to start a money-making blog in just a few minutes!

I asked each mommy blogger two questions:

What inspired you to start blogging as a mom?

What has been the most rewarding part of your mommy-blogging journey?

If you are a mom looking for other mommy bloggers to follow or just want to be inspired to start your own blog based on their amazing-ness you can check out the below mom blogs by clicking on their blog name or follow them through their links in the list below:

Moms Make Cents
What mommy blogger McKinzie Bean has to say:

“I started Moms Make Cents because I knew that my knowledge could help improve the lives of other moms. Right before I had my first baby the company my husband worked for took a huge financial hit and my husband’s pay was cut by ⅓. I started three profitable businesses that year to help keep us afloat. So many of my husband’s co-worker’s wives began asking me questions about how they could do the same. Finally, I realized that if there were so many people this close to home that needed help, I could help so many more people if I was able to share what I’d learned online. Once I found my purpose and my “why” things started to take off!

Definitely the friendships I’ve made and the fulfillment I get from doing something that is for me. As moms, we are so selfless and give everything we have to our family, so it has been amazing for my happiness and confidence to have an outlet that is just my own. Motherhood can also be lonely when you are only talking to a toddler all day. Blogging has helped me connect with wonderful women all across the world that are now some of my best friends! “

My thoughts:

McKinzie is such an inspiring mommy blogger! I love that she has been able to contribute a significant amount to her family’s income with profitable business and is now teaching other moms how to do the same. You can follow her on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. You can also join her extremely successful Facebook Group (I’m in it!) Blogging Newbs.

Nap Time Tales
What mommy bloggers Ashley B & Ashley W say:

“We are sister-in-laws that grew a strong friendship after our first babies were born (they are 16 months apart). One day we were chatting about how our friends were starting to have kids and the idea of starting a blog together was born. At first our blog was inspired by all the questions our friends had for us- “What should they register for? What was recovery after childbirth like? Why are my nipples bleeding?!”. It’s been fun to watch the blog grow alongside of our own motherhood journeys. By far the most rewarding part of blogging has been helping other Moms. Motherhood has not come naturally for me and, although it’s sometimes hard to be vulnerable online, sharing this has not only been therapeutic to me but has encouraged other new moms. Getting emails from readers thanking us for our resources and vulnerability gives us the motivation to keep sharing.”

My thoughts:

I love that this is a blog run by two sister-in-laws- both named Ashley! They have a TON of information about all things mommy (their first post was in 2012!) so be sure to check them out. You can follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Starts 5/15 At 8AM EST- While Supplies Last!

Wander Spice
What mommy blogger Katherine D’Costa says:

“The main reason I started to blog, along with my husband, is my belief that children become what they see and hear, more so than what they are told or taught. I want my children to be fiercely independent and chart their own course. But how can I guide them if I’m not actively pursuing my own financial independence, so after a previous attempt at an e-commerce store that was successful but was not aligned with our passions, we decided to launch our food and culture blog. Our children are still very young, so I’m glad they’ll be influenced by our activities to grow the blog into a brand. The second reason is tied to the purpose of the blog, which is the exploration of global cuisine and culture. Our children are also exposed to our research, cooking and activities that we plan for them, specific to a region.

So, in a nutshell, everything is for and because of them.”

My thoughts:

I love that Katherine is guiding her children both in her pursuit of making a living for herself as well as immersing them in the culture of the world through food. She is an inspiration on so many levels! You can follow her on Pinterest and Facebook.

Miss Sue Living
What mommy blogger Amanda Sue says:

“I started my blog to have creative outlet. As a homeschooling mom to three kids I am always trying to figure out ways to better manage my time and theirs. One day I was searching for a Daily Schedule and Task sheet that would work for kids on Pinterest. I couldn’t find one that I thought would work for my kids so I ended up creating my own. I thought – other moms may be looking for the same thing! So a blog would be a perfect place to share and encourage other moms. Also I felt like I could be sharing with other Moms what works for me in home management.

Right now the most rewarding part of blogging has been the amazing support and encouragement from my friends, family and online community. My blog has only been “live” for one month but I am so excited for this blogging journey! Putting yourself online for the world to see can be a scary thing. But it has been a very positive experience so far. I look forward to creating new friendships and helping moms streamline everyday living so that they can reduce stress and create more room for joy!”

My thoughts:

Amanda is a new mommy blogger and I absolutely love the clean design of her site! She will definitely be someone to watch. You can follow her on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.

Kinder Teacher Turned Mama
What mommy blogger Emily Condie says:
“I was inspired to start blogging because I felt like we had a unique story that I hoped would be an encouragement for others going through a similar situation. Our children were both adopted and while we were going through infertility and the adoption process, I remember scouring the Internet, looking for real life stories and people who had gone through similar things. It was always so encouraging and reassuring for me to find blogs of others who had battled infertility or who had been matched and placed with children. It gave me hope to read these stories and I hope that our story will give hope to others. I also now (thankfully!) know the hardships of motherhood and I hope that my blog will be a place of encouragement to all moms out there. I love to write “mama’s matter Mondays” posts on Mondays and just give moms a little boost for the upcoming week.  I also used to teach kindergarten and so love to share fun kid activities and ideas!  The most rewarding part of my mommy-blogging journey so far (it’s been a short journey so far, I just started my blog last month) has been having a creative outlet and a way for me to learn something new. I have loved learning more about computer programming and design. I’ve also loved when I hear from someone that something I wrote helped them or touched them in some way. These two things have definitely been the most rewarding part so far! “
My thoughts:

I love that Emily shares her journey of becoming a mom through adoption! There are so many types of moms out there and becoming an adoptive mom issuch a beautiful journey to motherhood. You can follow her on Pinterest and Instagram.

Real Life Mama Drama
What mommy blogger Beth Giusti says:
“I started blogging after having my 2 boys.  With my stepson, husband, and two more boys born 15 months apart, I had a ton of material.  Life is crazy with all of these boys in my life. So far on my blogging journey I have been lucky enough to be invited to some pretty cool family friendly places.  I have loved sharing these experiences and making memories with my boys.  Looking forward to many more adventures and opportunities that blogging may bring!”
My thoughts:
I absolutely love the way Beth blogs about being a mom but also staying true to herself! Her tagline says it all “a tell it like it is blog.”

Edify Me Blog
What mommy blogger Jackie Thenns says:
“My blog is about parenting, as well as, relationships, women’s issues, and divorce. It’s about growing up basically. I had the idea to start a blog because I was tired of the 9-5 and corporate America. I thought there had to be more to life than going to another job I hate day after day. The company I was working for was struggling and the trickle down effect was toxic. For a year, I went to my job every day thinking it would be my last. The stress was almost too much to handle. I couldn’t believe I was in yet another job that was causing me to be sick on a daily basis. I wanted to do something that filled me with joy. I love writing and I love being a mom and I’m a woman so I love talking about relationships and trying to figure them out so I decided a blog was the best avenue. Blogging allows me to share my 50 years of life experience in an inspirational and amusing way.”
My thoughts:

Jackie tackles some of the difficult topics of parenting including divorce and depression. I love how blogging has allowed Jackie to be more present for her daughter- something that is so important! You can and follow her on Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook.

Little Mama Lambert
What mommy blogger Makayla Lambert says:

“I started blogging as a way to connect with other moms. To inspire and to remind them that they’re not alone. To build relationships, share experiences, make someone laugh, or help someone feel better about themselves. We’re all on this journey, and it’s the BEST, but it can get a little lonely sometimes. I love talking to other moms and learning from them!”

My thoughts:

Makayla has a sweet and authentic voice- so important in blogging! You can follow her on Facebook and Instagram.

Shannon Cairns
What mommy blogger Shannon Cairns says:

“I started my mom blog in March.  We do so much as moms, and sometimes lose ourselves in it all!  I started my blog to have my own creative space.  I talk about being a mom, but also fun things that interest me!  I recently did a fun fashion post on Rent the Runway.  I was so excited to post it and see how people reacted.  The blog really makes me happy, and has made me realize how much I love writing, and connecting with other moms and bloggers in general.  I’m learning a lot about myself, and getting to use my creative and artistic side.  I’m finding out how much I love photography and photo editing as well!  It’s been such an amazing growth experience for me.”

My thoughts:

Shannon has such a fun and colorful blog! I look forward to following her blogging journey. You can follow her on Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram.

Right From The Start
What mommy blogger Rachel McClary says:

“My husband first suggested I start a blog 6 years ago after the birth of my youngest daughter. I am an early education consultant by profession and was taking a significant career break and he felt it would be a good way to keep my name out there and keep abreast of current thinking. Having 3 small children meant I could apply what I knew to real events in my family life. I started in the early days in UK blogging and the best part in those days was meeting other bloggers who were all amazing in their own way.  As things have evolved – I became a freelance writer and have been asked to write book proposals based on my writing in my blog. I have never tired of blogging and love it when others appreciate or compliment my writing and feel they can relate to my personal experience”

My thoughts:

Blogging is such a great way to connect with women all over the world! I love that Rachel brings a UK perspective to her “mum” blog and provides some great resources for parents. You can follow her on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter.

Love My Big Happy Family
What mommy blogger Lori Grace Hill-Smith says:

“Blogging gave me the opportunity to do what I love and set my own schedule is what inspired me to start blogging.  I love spending time with my family and being available to them.  I also love being creative and teaching.  Blogging allows me to focus on all the things I love! The most rewarding part of my blogging journey has been the opportunities it provides for me to help and inspire other moms, grandmas and families!”

My thoughts:

Lori is not just a mommy blogger, she’s a grand-mommy blogger! I love that blogging has given her a place to connect with other moms and grandmas while spending time with her own family. You can follow her on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter.

True and Pretty
What mommy blogger Grace says:

“What inspired me to start my blog 1/1/17, was our baby. I wanted an outlet to share, & potentially network with other Mommy bloggers. I hope someday soon, to be able to monetize the blog so I can stay at home with our baby girl. Learning has been the most rewarding! The online world is so different and vast! It’s amazing how much resources are out here for folks. I’ve been reading, absorbing as much as I can when I can. I love it.”

My thoughts:

I love the layout of Grace’s blog it is SO pretty (can you tell I am obsessed with amazing themes?) I look forward to following Grace’s journey in the blogging world! You can follow her on Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram.

As a guy it’s really great to see mom’s getting online, sharing their experiences, and giving advice to other moms. Let’s face it, parenting is hard, and I’m glad there is a huge community of mom bloggers online supporting one another!
